From the Pub, Kate texts Abe. Has he told Bonnie there’s “no way in hell” they’re casting her as Cassandra Lovegood? As Abe reads the text, Bonnie enters the Body and Soul office, excited to audition.
After catching up with Ava in the Square about their new jobs, Johnny heads off to meet with Abe. Stefan marches up to Ava, confronting her about Gabi. She assures him she corroborated his story that they only kissed twice. As he stews in guilt, she advises him not to ruin what he and Gabi have by confessing.
With mock sympathy at the DiMera office, Connie tells Gabi she overheard Ava talking to Kristen about having sex with Stefan. Enraged, Gabi smashes a vase. Connie knows how much Gabi values loyalty and she didn’t feel right keeping this secret from her. Gabi storms out to find “the lying, cheating sonofabitch who I ever made the mistake of marrying.” Connie smirks. “You go destroy your life, just like you destroyed my darling Li’s.”
Sitting on his Salem Inn bed, Leo types his Body and Soul sample script. When there’s a knock at the door, he opens to Hattie wearing tinted heart glasses and a heart-patterned top. He notes it’s a new look for her. She reminds him he invited her over to watch “The Drag Races.” She brought snacks. Leo quizzically reacts to her Hatti-isms while talking to her as if she’s Marlena. He’s especially taken aback when she pulls out pork rinds and root beer. He took her as more of a white wine and caviar kinda gal. When she sees the script he’s writing, she tells him she’s the star of the show. Leo’s stunned she’s willing to give up her life’s work to be on a soap opera. They engage in more miscommunication while snacking and bonding.

Roman finds Kate fuming at a table in the Pub. She rants about Abe casting Hattie and pressuring her to give Leo a chance. Now, Bonnie wants a role. “This reboot of Body and Soul is beginning to seem like amateur hour at the Salem Community Theater.” Roman notes that that troupe is pretty good, actually. Kate will give Hattie and Leo enough rope to hang themselves, but she draws the line at Bonnie.
At Body and Soul, Bonnie prattles on about auditioning. Abe interrupts to tell her that’s not happening because she needs more acting experience. Johnny arrives as Bonnie reminds them that she successfully pretended to be Adrienne for months. Johnny thinks she has a point and offers to direct her audition. Abe begrudgingly agrees to it. When Bonnie gets too nervous to read her lines, Johnny suggests she channel her ability to impersonate Adrienne. With tears welling, Bonnie says she doesn’t like to remember how much she hurt Justin. Johnny directs her to feel that regret and remorse.

Bonnie tearfully reads lines of Cassandra’s regret for ordering the toxic dumping of waste into Lake Pineview, which made its way underneath the volcano atop Pinetop Mountain, triggering an explosion that wiped out an entire family. She grows more impassioned as Cassandra, wondering if she should repent by jumping stark naked into the fountain of Lovegood Country Club and “baptize myself the Toxic Tramp of Pineview?!” She sobs. Johnny calls her fantastic and riveting. Abe admits it was wonderful. “You have the part.” Bonnie celebrates.
Abe meets Kate at the Pub to delicately report that he gave Bonnie the role. Meanwhile at the office, Johnny tells Bonnie she was great, but he has notes. She makes him uncomfortable by flirting with him, which is an act to prove she doesn’t need his notes.

Concealing her ire, Gabi approaches Ava and Stefan in the Square. Ava explains they were rehashing how their two kisses were just a cover and meant nothing. Stefan asks if Gabi believes nothing else happened between him and Ava. Gabi wonders what possible reason she’d have to think he’d lie about that. She fibs that she came to thank him for the flowers he sent for their anniversary and passionately kisses him. As she struts away, Stefan worries she knows, but Ava is confident she doesn’t.
Gabi returns to Connie at the office. She didn’t confront Stefan and Ava because she needs proof. She’ll gather as much ammunition as possible to blow those two cheaters out of the water — and she’ll need Connie’s help to do it.
Next, on Days of Our Lives, Fiona and Brady give in to their demons, and Chad tries to trigger the mystery woman’s memories.
