At Alexis’ place, she tells someone on the phone to figure out how to get here as they are needed for once. Alexis finds Kristina on the couch. Kristina couldn’t sleep. She says every time she sleeps, she realizes her daughter is gone, and when she wakes up, she is facing the nightmare that Ava is claiming she tried to kill her.
Alexis tells her daughter that today is not about Ava or Cates. Today is about burying the baby and coming together as a family. Kristina wonders if TJ and Molly would still consider her family if they knew she was going to keep her baby. She reads over the legal document she drafted, which she calls worthless now. Alexis says it may be worthless, but it wouldn’t be meaningless to TJ and Molly, who are hurting as much as she is. She says the last thing anyone needs is more hurt, so TJ and Molly can never know what she was planning.

At the PCPD, Ava gives Anna her rehearsed statement that Cates dictated to her, that Kristina kept screaming at her that she’d kill her. A woman takes the statement down while Cates looks on, smiling.
Anna brings up Ava’s original statement, and not once did she mention that Kristina threatened to kill her. Ava says she was still in shock, and Cates says it happens. Anna asks where Ava’s legal representation is. Ava admits she hasn’t seen Scott lately, and Cates suggests Anna ask Jason about his whereabouts. Cates says the last person who had contact with Scott was Jason, and that was over 24 hours ago. Anna says she’ll look into Scott’s disappearance and exits.
Cates tells Ava that she was great and her statement was perfect. Ava comments, “Just as you scripted it, and now I’m on record making a false statement.” Cates reminds her they are in this together. Ava knows Sonny is out there circling and waiting. Cates tells her that Sonny only responds to leverage, and he knows where to get some.

At TJ and Molly’s, they prepare to bury their daughter today. Molly gets a text and lets him know that Stella and the family are on the way. Molly thinks perhaps they should stop referring to their baby as “their baby.” She feels their baby deserves a name.
Jordan, Curtis, Marshall and Stella arrive, and Jordan lets Molly and TJ know they are here for them and will get through this together. Molly says she has one thing to take care of before the funeral and needs to do it alone. She hugs TJ before leaving. Jordan asks if something is wrong. TJ says one small thing is right for a change.
Molly arrives at Alexis’ place. Kristina, previously in pajamas, is now dressed for the funeral. Kristina notes Molly is here early and without TJ. Molly wanted to let them know that she and TJ named the baby. Kristina blurts out, “Without me?” Molly says it had to be done for the birth certificate and to bury her, so they named her Irene Marie after TJ’s grandmother. Kristina says that’s not what I would have named her.
Alexis begs them not to do this, not to fight today. Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Alexis answers, and it’s Cates. Cates claims he is here for Kristina. Alexis asks if he’s arresting her again. He says he has questions and needs her to come into the station. Alexis is furious and informs him that they are burying the baby today. Cates adds, “The baby Kristina killed while trying to kill his witness?” He says Kristina can come with him, or he can take them all in, and their family can bury their dead without any of them.
Alexis informs Cates he can’t show up here making demands. She reminds him that the contract from the court indicates that he has to contact her client and make official appointments. She asks Molly to retrieve the papers from her case. She also says he has no new evidence with which to question Kristina. Cates reveals Ava made a sworn statement this morning that Kristina tried to kill her, so that is all he needs to pursue Kristina, and he will. Alexis tells him not today, learn how the law works, and shows him the door. Alexis promises Kristina she will do everything she can to protect her. Meanwhile, Molly looks over the documents her mother asked her to get and appears emotionless.
Back at TJ and Molly’s, TJ tells his family that he and Molly had talked about their baby’s name these past few months. This name had to be perfect. He says picking a name became more complicated when they lost her before meeting her. They realized they couldn’t bury their daughter without a name, and Aunt Stella made it clear to them the other day when she talked about her sister Irene. She gave Molly the idea to name their daughter Irene Marie.
Marshall is touched, and Stella is so moved to tears that she has to go into the hall, claiming she has to check on some deliveries. Curtis comes out to comfort her. Later, Stella and Curtis go back in, having brought some bagels that were finally delivered. Stella tells TJ she loves him so much and embraces him.
At the gallery, Joss and Trina are dressed for the funeral. They discuss Ava’s situation. Joss expects Ava to be behind bars soon, but Trina isn’t counting her out yet. Joss can’t believe Trina thinks she’ll come out of this free. Trina says that Ava has not been tried and convicted yet and deserves her day in court like anyone else. Trina can see Joss disagrees and has already made up her mind. Joss admits she despises Ava. Trina knows many people do, so what is the real problem behind Joss’ problem. Joss replies, “You.”
Trina can’t believe Joss has a problem with her. Joss loves her, hates Ava, and has a problem that she sticks by Ava no matter what. Trina says she’d do that for any friend. Joss doesn’t understand how she and Ava are in the same friendship category. Trina says her and Ava’s situations are different, and she’s not stupid, she knows Ava’s done horrible things. Joss says she’s still doing awful things and asks how many people Ava has to hurt before she questions their friendship. Trina responds, “As if there aren’t plenty of people in your life you look the other way for.”
At that moment, Ava enters the gallery. She sees she’s interrupting. Joss explains they are burying TJ and Molly’s baby today. Ava tells Trina to go to the funeral, and she’ll handle work, but Trina tells Joss to go, and she’ll get a ride share. Joss lets Ava know that if it was her in that room, Ava would have gone out the window.
Alone, Trina apologizes for Joss, but Ava tells her never to apologize for someone else. Trina heard that Kristina was arrested for trying to kill her, but Ava never mentioned that when she visited her in jail. Trina asks if Ava lied to her or the police. Ava says she isn’t supposed to be talking about the case. Trina argues that she just defended her to Joss, who says she’s not worthy of her friendship. Ava says she doesn’t want to involve her, as this is dangerous. Trina states she isn’t a child and Ava doesn’t have to baby her. Ava can see their friendship is hurting her. Ava admits she’s in trouble, and the FBI is making her do things she doesn’t like. She says the only way she can stay alive is to do what she’s told.
Ava tells Trina they will never speak of this again. Trina thanks her for being honest and promises her that nothing will break their bond. She knows who she is, but she knows she’s capable of good. Trina says everyone will see it, too, if she stops Cates from hurting Kristina. Ava says she will make this right somehow. Trina urges her to tell the truth. Ava can’t, not yet. Trina informs her that time is running out.
More: Robin Mattson’s welcome update
At Sonny’s, Jason informs him that the pharmacist has safely been relocated to his island and away from Cates. Sonny says they have to lure Valentin out now and will use Anna as bait. Jason fears this could bring the PCPD down on them. Sonny states he didn’t want trouble with Anna, and she made him the enemy.
Suddenly, Anna shows up. She informs Sonny that Ava has amended her statement and claims it was Kristina who threatened to kill her. Sonny says this is a lie and it is all Jagger’s doing. Anna agrees and believes he coerced Ava into making the statement, but she can’t prove it. Sonny says none of this would have happened if she had handled Valentin from the start. He says Valentin messed with his meds, he was involved in Pikeman, he tried to take him down. Sonny snarks that maybe he did it all from Anna’s bed.
Anna tells Sonny he set this all in motion years ago by putting Karen Wexler on that stage. Sonny makes a face and dismisses her. Anna says she’s not here for him. Anna tells Jason that he must come with her to the station as she has questions about Scott Baldwin’s disappearance. They walk out, and Anna tells Sonny, “Always a pleasure.”
More: Jason may have played his last romance
Back at the station, Anna asks Jason where Scott is. He has no idea and says he last saw him here with Ava. Anna informs him she has a credible report that Scott is missing. She also knows Cates isn’t above using Scott like he did Kristina. She also is not happy that he told Sonny about Valentin. He says he didn’t tell him that she let Valentin go, only that he was behind the meds switch. Anna tells him that since he returned, he has been straddling between two worlds, Sonny’s and hers, and that it has to stop. She tells him he has to choose.
Anna tells Jason he has a second chance and doesn’t need to return to Sonny. He can have a good life where he can be there for his children and Carly. He says she, better than anyone, knows everything isn’t clear cut. Anna thinks he’s learned better since being a young, naïve boy stuck on Sonny. He asks when she learned better, after being a double-agent, maybe it was because of Faison, or was it Valentin? He says she demands better from him when she compromises herself again and again, including right now. She admits she is compromised, but he can get out. He assumes they are done and goes to walk out. Anna says she and Cates have one thing in common: they both swore to protect and serve. She will never use John’s methods, but she will take Sonny down and hopes Jason won’t be standing next to Sonny when she does so.
Back at the gallery, Ava thinks about the accident and what happened. She goes to leave when Sonny arrives. She asks if he’s here to kill her. Sonny says after what she did to Kristina, to her daughter, and helping Cates, that she deserves to die, and his face should be the last thing she sees. However, Sonny says he’s not here to take her life but to save it.
Next on General Hospital, Ric returns to support Molly at her daughter’s funeral.
