Lily Kicked Out – Billy Plays Into Victor’s Hands

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) hesitation of working with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is justified. Billy is primed to assert the power his mother gave him and remove her as his co-head of Abbott Chancellor.

Many people have warned Lily about this anticipated turn of events. Devon Winters (Bryton James) was concerned that his sister was falling for Billy’s act. That protective sibling instinct has already proven right.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Sets The Trap

Billy convinces himself that Lily needs to share his vision for the company’s future. He believes her approach needs to be more aggressive and will hold back the company, which is a proxy for him.

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wanted to send Billy a message. He did so in a very Moustachian manner.

Rather than challenge Billy directly, Victor included Devon in a meeting at Newman Enterprises while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was present. Victor knew Devon would send the warning message to Lily about Abbott Chancellor being doomed to Lily.

Victor also knew that Lily would relay that message to Billy. The daytime dominoes fell as anticipated. The sequence provoked tension between Lily and Billy, leading to his decision to head the company alone.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters Is Better Off With Family

Billy was someone Lily cared for. But that is not a leading factor now. Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was Lily’s first love and husband.

Devoted fans recall that storyline from nearly two decades ago. More recently, he broke her heart when reconnecting with Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom).

So, with her love life stalled and the alliance with Billy dashed, Lily would be better off returning to her family’s business. Of course, Lily initially played Billy until she realized that she preferred to leave her brother and cousin.

Lily was interested in safeguarding the Chancellor part of Abbott Chancellor, but Billy’s quixotic personality clashed with that concept.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Is Not Listening

Victor is a harsh critic, but his assessment of Billy’s response to a business threat is spot on. Billy believes he can withstand anything anyone throws at him. He fails to recognize that Victor remains a master.

Billy has no proven track record of business success, and relying on the reputation Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) built and his mother’s confidence is no match for Braeden’s legendary soap opera character.

The endgame seems inevitable. Billy will likely go down quickly, blaming Victor and everyone who did not believe in his vision.

Assuming the above happens and knowing that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) remains at Glissade, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) may offer Billy the opportunity Lily has. He can return to the family business and work with people who care about his best interests.
