Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Ron Carlivati has been fired due to a writing shakeup happening at the Peacock soap. According to multiple sources, Ron Carlivati is OUT as DOOL’s head writer after seven years.

Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have stepped in as replacements, but it’ll take some time before their work actually hits the screen.

Since the show films several months in advance, fans will still see episodes that Ron Carlivati penned through April 2025 before being fired.

In a statement, Executive Producer Ken Corday expressed excitement for Days’ upcoming 60th anniversary with Cwikly and Ford bringing “fresh, exciting stories” that viewers will love.

“We wish Ron nothing but the best and thank him for his dedication and the respect he has shown to me, the cast, and the show’s legacy,” Corday said.

As for the new writing team in charge, they’ve got plenty of soap experience between them.

Paula Cwikly worked at Days as both an associate and head writer back in the early 2000s, so this isn’t her first rodeo in Salem.

Cwikly’s soap writing resume also includes Sunset Beach, As The World Turns and The Young and the Restless, so DOOL will be in capable hands with her at the helm.

Of course, Jeanne Marie Ford has a longstanding connection to Days since she was a writer’s assistant at the show in 1992.

Ford went on to write for One Life to Live and As The World Turns, but she ultimately landed back at Days and has been serving in a breakdown writer role.

Now Ford is being promoted, so it’ll be interesting to see what her co-head writing vision looks like now that she’s teaming up with Cwikly in the top spot.

As for Ron Carlivati, he’s free to pursue other writing gigs now, so could he land back at General Hospital or potentially take over at The Young and the Restless one day?

Time will tell, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Carlivati’s career moving forward.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say some cast changes could follow this head writing change, so stick with us for more story predictions and updates on any comings and goings news.
