We didn’t actually think Xander would go quite this far, but it sure as heck looks like he’s moved on from wanting to paralyze Brady to planning to kill him! Or rather, as he told Sarah in this week’s Days of Our Lives’ preview, he’s feeling confident that Brady is going to kill himself. We just aren’t too sure if it’s going to be intentional, seeing as how Xander’s sneaking into Brady’s room after, spoilers indicate, the recovering alcoholic is drugged!
While, sadly, believable with Brady’s mental state as low as it is at the moment, it’s not the best idea. Murders covered up to look like suicide don’t usually go off without a hitch in Salem. Connie just found that out the hard way. But then, Xander isn’t exactly in his right mind at the moment.
As Paul Telfer explained during an interview with Michael Fairman, “Xander would always rather be angry than sad. Anger is a much more comfortable, energizing emotion. So when he’s confronted by things that would make him sad and depressed, he finds the part of it that he can get angry about. And then he tries to smash the thing that he’s making angry.”
He tried quite literally smashing the object of his anger — Brady — but now that that’s been stopped, it looks like he’s taking a more roundabout, permanent route. And it could not come at a worse time! Because Brady’s brother Eric is in town, and, as Eric Martsolf told Fairman, the former priest is “very helpful in getting Brady to realize that there may be more to this story than he believes.”
More specifically, Brady’s going to have a “revelation that maybe he wasn’t the one that hit Sarah.” And that Martsolf shared, will “begin that path of truth that is eventually gonna lead to the big reveal.”
Of course, that won’t amount to much if he’s dead… But we have hope that, just like his mother, Xander will come to his senses before he does anything too drastic! Though what he’ll do when they figure out Fiona was the one to hit Fiona is anyone’s guess.
With that said, it sounds like we’re going to have to start guessing fast, because the truth is finally on its way out!
