Buckle up General Hospital fans, an exciting ride is about to begin! The latest reports are hinting that the mega ABC soap is gearing up to finally wake Lulu Spencer up from a coma. For years now, Daytime fans have been waiting for this to happen. Unfortunately, all they received were some “headless” scenes of Lulu in the hospital, surrounded by one loved one or the other.

Time and again entertainment portals have speculated that some storyline would create a shift that demands Lulu Spencer to wake up from her coma and return to the screen. But that never happened – until now! TV Insider is reporting that General Hospital has put out a casting call for a character named, Lauren. She is described as 34 to 40 years old and a blonde, white woman, who is beautiful, dynamic, and fiery.

Now, anyone who has been following GH for long enough would immediately know that the above characteristics bag on describe Lulu Spencer! Thus, for the first time in years, we have reason to believe that the makers are actually recasting the role! The last time we saw Lulu on-screen was back in 2020 when she fell into a coma, played by actress Emme Rylan.

However, as soon as the news broke out, Emme Rylan, took to her Instagram stories to express her deep disappointment over General Hospital’s decision to recast the role. “Yes, it is true. GH has decided to recast Lulu,” She confirmed the news, Furthermore, she added, ” I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure.”

The former GH star then went on to thank her fans and stated that she is grateful that the soap brought all “you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!” Well, Emme’s post has confirmed that Lulu is definitely coming back with an all new face. This is certainly one of those bittersweet moments when one doesn’t know whether to be excited or reminiscent.

All said and done, one thing is sure – Lulu’s return will prove very beneficial for the storyline of the soap. Especially since her brother Lucky Spencer is returning to the soap as well. In fact, Jonathan Jackson has already started filming for his return. We wonder if his return somehow triggers something in Lulu that causes her to wake up.
