General Hospital: What’s Ahead for the GH Alum Kelly Monaco?
What’s Ahead for the GH Alum Kelly Monaco?
The General Hospital fans were caught off guard when the soap let go of Kelly Monaco and wrote her character, Sam McCall off. They couldn’t help but come together to launch petitions to keep her on the show. But we’re not quite sure if that effort will succeed. If it doesn’t, it’s a tough break for Sam, but it doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the actress. She may lend interesting roles in the other soaps as well. So, where might Kelly land next?
A Steamy New Soap Role on the Horizon?
Let us tell you that the General Hospital alum Kelly’s no stranger to soap opera shake-ups. Back in 2003, when her role as Livvie on Port Charles ended with the show’s cancellation, she was still in high demand. All My Children and GH both wanted her, but she chose the ABC soap. Similarly, it’s again possible that other daytime dramas will be eager to snatch her up now.
So, where could Monaco end up next? One idea is The Young and the Restless. They could bring her in as Jennifer, the daughter of the Brooks and Foster families. Moreover, picture her arriving in Genoa City with Aunt Jill, ready to make a splash at Jabot, just like her mom did. This could also bring back some familiar faces from the Brooks family.
They can set up plenty of romantic possibilities with characters like Adam, Nick, or Billy. Or how about The Bold and the Beautiful? They could create a fresh character for Kelly, running a new fashion house and stirring up drama with Bill. Or a potential romance with him or another new partner. This could also set up some juicy rivalries and love triangles.
Furthermore, if she happens to spark a connection with Liam, it will add even more drama to the mix. Another option could be Days of Our Lives, which has a history of crossovers. So, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Kelly’s character emerge as an old flame of Steve Burton’s Harris. But if we mix things up, how about she returns as Taylor Walker?
She’s just the character who could reignite some old drama with EJ in Salem? While the role was previously played by Tamara Braun (now Ava), Days is known for swapping actors seamlessly. Finally, the upcoming soap CBS The Gates could also be a great fit. Additionally, the show will focus on a wealthy Black family.
The ex-GH star could play a character from the past of one of the central figures. How about a former lover who creates chaos and drama upon her return? We’ll have to see how it all plays out for the star.
