Young & Restless Alum’s Latest Return Is Sharon’s Worst Nightmare
Well, we sure didn’t have this return on our August 2024 bingo card… mostly because the character is deceased! Of course nothing as pesky as dying ever stopped Young & Restless, in fact, soap operas in general are known for bringing back baddies we believed to be dead and buried. Then again, we don’t think that’s quite what is happening in this case…
It was just over a year ago that returned violent stalker Cameron Kirsten finally met his match (or rematch) in Sharon when she plunged a knife into him after he held her daughter Faith captive and strapped a bomb around her waist. Ol Cameron was finally as dead as a doornail, but much like the proverbial cat, he just seems to keep coming back.
Just as Sharon was recovering from the traumatic dealings with her obsessed former rapist, a package arrived on her doorstep connected to him and his company Kirsten Incorporated. As it turned out, the twisted Kirsten had left Sharon the technology firm in his will. Once Sharon got her mind around it, she decided to use it to do good, something we’re certain he would have felt some kinda way about if he’d been alive.
Sharon renamed the company Cassidy First after her deceased first-born and all was well for a time.
Recently, however, Sharon has been behaving strangely and told Nick that her doctor had adjusted her bi-polar meds. It’s clear to see that either the new meds aren’t working well or, as Faith theorized to her dad, she’s stopped taking them entirely. She’s also been avoiding her work at Kirsten/Cassidy First.
Amid growing concern for the blonde beauty, comes a Young & Restless spoiler teasing that Sharon will have a rude awakening as part of this coming Friday’s cliffhanger.
The timing then, was uncanny, for Linden Ashby to show up in the credits at the end of the show for this week as none other than Cameron Kirsten.
Yep, the dastardly villain is making a return to the show, which has to be the explanation for Sharon’s “rude awakening”. It certainly sounds like she’ll awaken from a nap and find him standing in her living room. Terrifying!
Of course, given Sharon’s recent issues, and the fact that Kirsten is dead dead, this appearance is surely part of a nightmare or hallucination. Will he have something to say about her neglecting his former company? Perhaps, but he honestly wouldn’t have to say anything at all to absolutely terrorize our girl!
