If only there was something happening on Young & Restless aside from musical CEOs. Sharon’s story, of course, is a little something different. It’s taken a turn for the disturbing and is arguably the most intriguing plot on the go at the moment. Here’s a look at what’s happened and what’s coming up.

Not Feeling It

Billy and Chelsea’s break up was emotional, and his subsequent scenes with Connor were sweet. But it didn’t escape my attention that he made himself instantly available to that kid for a lengthy chat, when his own daughter recently had to battle for a scrap of his time. Moving forward, it’s clear we’re headed for an Adam and Chelsea reunion, with Connor spearheading the campaign to get them back together. Little does he know they already have a head start.

I’m not a fan of the way they’re downplaying what Adam had with Sally, nor do his sudden supposed feelings for Chelsea make sense to me. The vibe just isn’t there between the characters onscreen. As is the case with so many others, I don’t know where they could take this story to make it interesting.

Musical Execs

Lily was turfed out of Abbott Chancellor only to find herself in Victor’s office trying to cut a deal. I had high hopes for this plot twist, but alas, she gave Victor the information he needed without getting anything in writing. Her best hope is that he’ll make her a co-CEO alongside Nikki. It’s not like him to put someone other than family in a position like that, but Michael’s warning about Nikki’s ability to take on the company seemed foreshadow-y.

With Lily gone and Chance out, the latest round of musical executive positions will see Phyllis slotted in as Billy’s COO, per the preview. At least this combo battling Victor could be entertaining as all get out. It seems a forgone conclusion that Victor will win, but I’m still holding out hope for a twist, honestly. Thoughts?

New Love Triangle

Billy working with his ex, Phyllis, and growing ever closer to his commisseration companion, Sally, could be the set up for a whole new unforeseen love triangle down the road. All I know is that when Phyllis and Sally clashed in the past, it was hella good fun.

Love Triangle Part II

Speaking of potential love triangles, we’re deffo gonna get Claire/Kyle/Summer before too long. Summer may be into Chance at the moment, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that she’s not going to enjoy seeing Kyle with Scary Poppins. After all, she and Kyle didn’t split because they fell out of love.

Downward Spiral

Chance’s decision to almost certainly go back to being a cop comes at a fortuitous time because it seems like his ex, Sharon, is poised to commit a serious crime…. against Daniel Romalotti! Fantasizing about the guy being dead was the first clue, and the preview with Sharon telling Cameron his idea was repulsive was a giant red flag. Of course, Sharon and Cameron are of one mind at this point, and he pointed out it was actually her idea. It doesn’t bode well for Daniel, and I’d expect Sharon to spiral toward some sort of attack on him as this portion of the story climaxes. But it won’t stop there… Phyllis vs. Sharon will blow up again as a result, I’m sure. As for what’s behind Sharon’s psychosis, it was a twist and a half when Mariah discovered her mom was taking her pills. Find out the truth about Sharon’s meds here.

Odd ‘n’ Sods

Cole’s defiance of Victor was spicier than his bedroom scene with Victoria, which lasted all of three seconds with them fully clothed… Audra and Nate were a different story — hot!… Lucy’s proving to be a chip off the ol’ block, with the “block” including Sheila Carter, Daisy Carter, and Phyllis… I’ve been waiting for Diane to revert to type since she returned, so here’s hoping her spinning out over Kyle is a pre-cursor to something dramatic.

The opinions expressed are my own. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this week’s Young & Restless in the comments.
